Here are some facts about domestic violence to think about- According to Domestic Violence Statistics:

  • Every 9 seconds a woman is being abused in the United States.
  • 3 women are murdered by their intimate partner every day in the United States.
  • 92% of the women surveyed list reducing domestic violence as their top concern.

How about you?  Do you want to make a difference in the life of a woman or child survivor of domestic violence? Want to know how you can help?  Consider being a volunteer.  There may be a variety of opportunities to volunteer with Dare2hope, Inc., including but not limited to: operations, administrative and victim advocacy throughout the year. 

Qualifications for Volunteers:

  • Volunteers working directly with domestic violence survivors are subject to a back ground check and are also required by the State of California to attend a 40-hour domestic violence training per Evidence Code 1037.
  • Volunteers not working directly with domestic violence survivors are not required to attend the California mandated 40-hour training, however, they are subject to a back ground check.
  • There must be an appropriate volunteer position available with Dare2Hope that is well suited the skill set and experience of the volunteer.
  • To be a professional mentor each volunteer applying must successfully complete the 40-hour domestic violence training per Evidence Code 1037, successfully pass background check and submit their resume with professional and personal references for the safety and protection of our DV survivors. 

There are shelters and domestic programs in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas that rely on volunteers to keep their programs operating.  Here at Dare2Hope, Inc. we can use your skills and experience to teach important life-planning skills to women that will empower them to rebuild successful lives.
